Please remove this if it is advertising in some way but I found this review while looking for information on the R9 390 and the video itself is very well made, it reminds me a lot of Linus's.

He's done a few reviews on bits and pieces, he describes the hardware, what it is, the specs, comparison etc. and how it runs. I thought it was an overall well done video so here it is

Again, sorry if this is advertising

Is it just me or does the card not have coil whine and what he's describing is the natural electrical buzz of transistors?

I was thinking that, there were a few comments on it saying they had coil whine as well so it may just be hard to hear?

I think people confuse coil whine with the normal sound of electronics - even SeaSonic themselves list a bit of buzz when close to it as "normal" - if you can hear it from further than 1 meter away then it can be classified as coil whine. My card does the exact same thing so do others - current passing through the coils forces them to vibrate a bit and that CANNOT be avoided - usually there is adhesive glue but sometimes the vibrations are either too strong or the glue is not enough

Yeah, my PSU from XFX also had a very small case of coil whine. It wasn't noticeable and I think it has gone now but if you paid close attention you could definitely hear something

It was more of a whine though, there was only a couple whines every few minutes, nothing persistent
