It's like a 970 in a laptop, it's called '970M' but it's more like a 950 or something. I doubt it supports freesync.

why the hell did they just skip the 280?

It's based on an older core/chip I believe, the reason they produced the 285 was for the bells and whistles like freesync and all that fancy crap.
