Technics STA SU-V460

STA(Stereo Integrated Amplifier)

So my Dad brought home a SU-V460 Amplifier and I am wondering if I should use as I have no Amplifier

my speakers are those small logitech ones that can do alot for their size and a subwoofer(idk which series is this but im guessing a very old one)

now is this amp any good?Should I even bother to plug it in and try it out?

and will it go good with my ATH-M50x's?

Do you have some nice passive speakers to go with that amp? If not, it'll be a bit too bulky if you just use it with headphones.

I have found my speakers on newegg

Those speakers won't work with the amplifier. You need proper passive speakers that you can hook into the amplifier. The difference is that your speakers already have an amplifier built in, and plugging them into another amplifier, wouldn't make much sense. Amplifiers like the one you have are meant to be used with passive speakers that don't have built in amplifiers. That's what the separate amplifier is for.

Here's a quote from the amplifiers spec sheet if you are interested in buying speakers for the amplifier:

"Power output: 45 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)"

If you have no interest in buying new speakers or if you or your dad don't have compatible speakers laying around, then you should probably just get rid of the amp. It will not be of much use to you without the speakers.

allright, can you reccomand me any good seperate speakers for the money? :D
