So I recently finished building a new computer from scratch for my dad, and I'm sitting here trying to download the graphics drivers from AMD's website. First of all, here's the spec list.

AMD FX-6350

XFX Radeon R7 260X

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

2x4GB HyperX RAM

EVGA NEX650 Power Supply

Windows 8.1 OS

As I'm installing the Catalyst drivers, the installer fails to detect my graphics card. No message pops up, but it constantly attempts to search for the graphics card details, and never finds them. This being a brand new PC, there are no old drivers to remove. It is a fresh, clean install. For that reason I have no idea why it is acting up. Any light that could be shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

First of, does you dad play games or why a dedicated gpu instead of some random cheap i3?

On topic:

Check with other programs if it can detect your gpu.

Also do what's suggested above, check if all the cables are in the right places.

Yes the graphics card is inserted properly. I have a display, but the drivers aren't detecting the graphics card information

He does play games such as Sid Meyer's Civilization and others, hence why I went with the dedicated graphics rather than integrated graphics.
