How do I slow down my CPU?

OK.. so I just installed a new ssd and 1tb hdd, reinstalled win7 and now my 

 

Phenom 1090t  has gone from running at 3.12ghz to 3.7ghz!

 

I have no idea why.. but I need to slow it down coz its overheating

 

Can anyone tell me how to do this... ?

If its overheating it will thermal throttle, go into bios and change the core clock to 3.1

The 3.7ghz that you saw is probably due to turbo boost and is perfectly fine.

when exporting images from lightroom the temperature was getting up to 74 degrees C and as stated before it was thermal throttling.. .. now after reducing the clock speed its sitting at about 45degrees and sitting pretty
