Need new laptop for school! Please help!

Hallo guys!

first of all thanks for helping! I need a laptop for school (starting college next year). The budget is between 800 and 900 euro's or 850 and 950 dollars. The main question I got is wheter to get a quad-core i5 or a dual core i7? Id also like a dedicated GPU and at least 8gb of RAM.

Thanks again hope to see some answers!

For $1000~ and less, don't expect anything great, like seriously. Most gaming laptops (decent dedicated GPU and CPU) are priced around $1800+ and the better/best ones sit at $2600+

I think including VAT, you're not going to get a quad-core i7 in your budget. You can still get a dGPU though. And mobile i5s don't have quad-cores.

Normally I would recommend the chromebook, only saying this cause like the guy said above me, it's gonna be difficult to find something good.

XPS 13 is what I would recommend solely for school pure slim, professional grade carbon fiber. Again, only purchase this if its for school related materiel only.

Let him decide if he wants a decent gaming experience or not.

He never said it wasn't for gaming either.

No reason to get a dGPU otherwise.
