Motherboards don't effect performance so i would go with a $100 board

and the CX PSU's are known to overheat and burn peoples house down especially if you have a high grade CPU and overclock it

and 8gbs or 12gbs of ram is sufficient for gaming

I suggest EVGA PSUs.

I don't know much about PSU's though, but i know people shouldn't get CX series PSU's

Your motherboard is fine but a $100 Z97 motherboard would preform just as good.

Corsair are know for mediocre power supply's, but they are not bad either.

I'll try and find the topic of the ranking of power supply's..

Okay if you can do that would be great.

Here it is

I would go with one of the top tier PSU's due to that you computer is going to cost  $2,000

I have one question though what makes the CX PSU so bad? Since this will be my first actual computer build when i have the money.

Well.

For one the Capacitors are of lower quality and absolutely do not like temperature as i heard, that's a pretty big reason to get a better PSU, also you won't have trouble finding people who have had CX PSU's fail on them

(Me included, I had 2 Die and Damage components, and im pretty sure i'd be on my 4-5th CX unit and possibly my 3rd i7 and 5th graphics card if i had continued buying them, thankfully i learned my lesson hard and invested in a top quality PSU instead of something i'd brand "Bargain Bin Quality")
.

sure there will be people that will say, I had CX unit for such and such, but considering the percentage of people who have had them fail on them....it seems like a lottery.

But trouble is, this is PSU's we are talking about, this is a category of no nonsense/the most serious Part in your PC, Lotteries are more for your GPU and CPU in the sillicon lottery, not for your PSU.

Thank you for explaining greatly appreciated. And im going to listen to you and not risk having any issues especially if im going to spend so much for my parts since i dont want to have to replace something if a part fries.

with a single 980 ti, you won't be doing any serious 4k gaming. you'll be playing at 1440p with excellent settings. having a single 980 ti is good though because then you can upgrade to another 980 ti for sli two way

if you want to learn how to overclock you cpu and gpu, read my guides. links are in my forum signature

no problem

x2 980's in sli would play 4k, but you won't be getting a constant 60 fps on max settings. that being said, having two 980's in sli would be better than having a single 980 ti. in the future, you could also upgrade to x3 980's in sli. just make sure you have a big enough full tower atx case

make sure you overclock your cpu and gpu
