New audioengine a5+ need hepl

hi guys, 

i just picked up the audioengine a5+, they sound great but i don't know how to regulate myself on the volume. i mean is it possible to break or ruin them ? i have listened to them for about 10 hours now and they are starting to sound much more differently from when i got them out of the box. also any tips on how to setup properly on the software side ? i just use the windows options and i have the speakers plugged into my motherboard (asus Z-97 pro).
