Liquids and their various differences

Go to solution Solved by Ghost,

Thanx Wunder.

Some post mentioned the corrosive affect of the kill coil on your parts that contain other metals. With all the additives you get now, do you really need the silver in your loop?

If you have biocide you don't need a kill coil. They both do the same job.

Is distilled water better than other liquids, why?, and what affect does the silver kill coil, and other additives have on performance. Also what about the lifetime of the coolant, how often do you need to flush your loop? I am looking for something to make my computer cooler/quieter and I love the look of liquid cooling.

I have been reading threads and articles and reviews, but to this point I still do not have a satisfactory answer to the questions I posted above. Please I have had too many opinions from people that are contradicted by another, if you have a custom loop and you use a specific product because you have actually seen the difference, then please post. I do not need any more fan boy advice.

You can use distilled water and other ready mixed coolants.

Just do not use mayhems "aurora" coolants.

Most coolants are simply distilled water + biocide + anti corrosive + dye.Additives have little or no effect on loop performance as you add so little of them compared to the actual liquid. Silver kill coil has no effect as its a thin coil of silver in your res.

Okay. Why?

The Aurora coolants are made ONLY for showcase builds. Their pearls can clog your loop up, and then they need to be cleaned...

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.
