Reason for Build:

Currently running a Dell Latitude E6410 that I've had for 6 years and it just feels like its gonna die. It was also never good at running CAD software and will significantly slowdown when multitasking.

Objective of Build:

Be able to run 3D CAD (Complex assemblies and parts)

Listen, Mix and Produce Music

Stream/play HD Video

Light gaming (Low-medium graphic settings)

Run 2 monitors max

Be able to do all of these things at once (EXCEPTION: Would only be doing one at a time of: 3D CAD, Gaming or Producing music)

VERY Occasional LIGHT Photoshop

Budget of Build:

$700 USD

Additional Questions:

1. How do i incorporate wi-fi and bluetooth into a custom PC, I did some googling and found mostly USB adapters, is this the best option? Does anyone have a good reccomendation for a bluetooth and wi-fi all-in-one adapter?
2. As of this point, I have no desire for better graphics, granted my laptop uses a NVIDIA NVS 3100M card, will the Intel HD Graphics 4600 do well for HD video, 3D CAD, and gaming on Low-medium settings?

3. Which case of the two I posted do you think is better? I like the fact that you could see in with the window, but I'm not sure its worth the cost.

4. Are sound cards worth it? I run very high quality speakers (Magnepan MGIIIa) and was wondering if it is worth it? Should I get internal or external???

5. Will the PSU I chose fit in the MicroATX cases? It says ATX in the description so I wasn't sure...

Please leave any feedback/recommendations/questions/opinions below! I am very new to computer components in general and expect a lot of criticism!

Thank You,

William Carwile

P.S. My old laptop has wifi and bluetooth, is there anyway to take the components from it? Laptop specs: http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e6410/pd

For CAD get a xeon instead, its not like ur getting an unlocked i5 anyway, the extra threads on the xeon will be nice. I do CAD too.

I know very little about any of this stuff, is there a chance you could reccomend a specific model processor?

Would something like the FSP400-60GHS(85) be better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104131

make sure you have a SATA cable, I was originally gonna use a 430 for my build, It doesn't come with a SATA cable, oh and don't forget about a hard drive, Sound cards are really only worth it for people who want the best audio experience ever, Not necessary unless you have a couple hundred dollars to throw away. You can buy a wireless adapter for a PCIE slot or a USB port, your pick. That is for having WiFi connection,  your also going to need to get the drivers on the PC somehow, because driver install for the wireless adapter exists (they usually include a disk so I would get a Optical Drive) if you don't want an optical drive you can get a 16GB USB flash drive and put it on there and install that way, oh and a OS assuming you will put 7,8, or 10. I also believe you cannot get a AIO adapter for bluetooth/Wifi, I think that only exists on laptops, I could be wrong though
