Hello forum ;D

My r9 280x is running to hot at 85-90 degrees Celcius.

My budget is around 650-750$

Should I go with 390x and buy a new power supply to crossfire later on / try watercooling ?

Or should I go to the green side ??

So this is my current build.

And no I have no problems cooling the cpu ;]

Thank you

[sorry for english --> european]

Bram

Has the worlds hottest cpu and complains about his gpu being hot...

/S

Have you tried trouble shooting the problem with your gpu as I would be inclined to get a new cpu, an I5 sooner than a new gpu.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

85-90 is not a big deal. You could try to add more fans in your desktop or running the fans at higher rpm. An upgrade from a 280x wouldn't have a big impact, so I suggest you keep it until green/red team release their new cards next year.

Improve airflow inside the case by getting more fans or running at higher RPMs and reapply the GPU thermal paste just in case, not much point in upgrading that GPU.

That card definitely need a new thermal paste.
