Using g-sync (on laptop)

I know how regular g-sync works, and I understand that now it's simulated with the graphics card in laptops. I'm getting a gaming laptop that does have g-sync which I am excited about, but how does it work on very high FPS. The screen has 60hz refresh by default but of course g-sync changes that. Now if I'm correct mobile g-sync should change that to 75 when I'm getting 75 FPS and change it to 65 when I'm getting 65 FPS. So what happens if I'm running a non-intensive game at 400 FPS. Since I'm doubting my screen will go to 400hz, then will I start to get tearing and basically render g-sync useless? Should I use some kind of FPS limiter? If so, what should I use and what should I limit my FPS to? All help is appreciated. Thanks!

Also, what's the deal with overclocking refresh rates etc. Can I do that on a laptop and how?

It doesn't "simulate " it.. it's gsync... it's just that laptop screen done need the module..

 

IIRC all certified screens have 75hz+ screens.. even if they are just overclocked versions of existing 60hz panels.

 

I believe you should be using adaptive vsync (correct me if I'm wrong here guys, I'm sure you will anyway)

 

For overclocking the monitor.. it's in the precisionX or whatever app you use, and depends on your panel.
