I was looking for an inexpensive SSD to be used as a boot drive in a new PC and the Corsair Force LS caught my eye.

I'm specifically looking for a cheap but reliable drive. It's going to be used as a boot drive only and 60GB will be enough.

Does anybody have experience with this drive? Would you recommend this drive, or could someone recommend and alterative around the same price point?

After looking up reviews I'm fairly happy with this as a budget drive, but I always like to check with the wealth of experience on the forum :)

Thanks in advance, Fantom.

Thanks for the recommendations!

mx100 is usually the go-to for budget drives.

A-Data SP900 is a good choice also

I looked at the MX100 (I have one in my main PC) and the SP900, but I can't find a 64GB one.

Does anyone have any experience with or opinions on the Force LS drives?

I've had a look for the SP900 and stumbled on the SP920. Do you know what the difference is?

Does anyone have experience with the Adata SP920? Would you recommend the 128GB model of this drive, or would there be a better option at this price?

Many thanks, Fantom.

I'm 99% sure that its just an improved version. In a few of linus's old videos, A-Data had a sponsor spot for the SP920 series. If Linus allowed a sponsor spot, i think it's pretty okay.

Here's a review by Tom's Hardware:

The ending conclusion for it looks pretty good  :)

You know that guy that games on a MacBook? I'm that guy.

Very good drive, not a benchmarks breaker and not the fastest but will be excellent for a boot drive and you won't notice any difference using superior drives unless you are looking for a raid 0 ssds

Thanks for these responses. I read some reviews and it appears to have very similar components to the Crucial M550, which is a well regarded drive. I think it's the one I'll end up ordering :)
