New/Old Computer, Crashes Unexpectedly

Go to solution Solved by Snake_skull,

still recommend to test the memory, but there may be a little switch thing that controls what memory slots are on and off located beneath the memory slots check and see if all the slots are on? I doubt the memory is failing....

I just took out the 3 1Gb Sticks out off the motherboard. And Everything seems to be fine :D

I will be sure the update in case something else goes wrong

Hi There!

I recently got a new Computer from a friend:

Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield

8 gigs of RAM

The computer itself is a Dell XPS 435T/9000.

I put a 600w Thermaltake PSU and my GTX 750ti into it today.

Everything was going nice and dandy, I was playing Minecraft and Watching some Youtube when I decided I was done with Minecraft I closed it,'

About 2 seconds after Minecraft closed. I found myself staring at a black screen saying "NO SIGNAL"

As my computer then proceeded to Boot back up.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thank You!

possibly a memory error, because the memory dump after closing an application. I'm sure it was a fluke and probably wont happen again.

Check to see if there are updates, and even a bios update.

also what is the operating system?

I might know what the problem is....

I looked at the RAM sticks in the motherboard. This is a triple Channel Memory board and there are 6 sticks in the Motherboard.

3 of them are 2 GB and the other 3 are 1 GB.

Is that the problem?

How can I fix it?

possibly, test just 3 of them, and then see if that is the problem. If it still does test the other set of memory, but if you test just one set don't expect the other to be bad. It might just be together they cause errors.

Well here another monkey wrench to toss into the mix.

I use DXDIAG and it tell me I have 6 Gbs of RAM Available to use.

I open up Task Manager It tells me I have 4 Gbs of RAM available to use.

...

WHAT IS GOING ON ;_:

still recommend to test the memory, but there may be a little switch thing that controls what memory slots are on and off located beneath the memory slots check and see if all the slots are on? I doubt the memory is failing....

it might be 1 1gb stick or more then 1 stick. It might just be that your board cant handle all of the channels (old motherboard problems), but I was expecting that to be the problem, and 6gb should be fine for most stuff.
