Using Speakers for Bass

You might need an adaptor or two, but I can't see why not.

Can your soundcard or whatever you use output to analog and digital at the same time? If so, then, assuming your soundbar accepts a digital input, you could hook up your sound bar via the digital out and plug your headphones into the analog out. Otherwise, some kind of splitter would be the simplest.
