BF3 connection issues when multiple people play?

When my friend comes over sometimes we like to play BF3 together but lately it's been having connection problems where one player can join a server but the other can't. Basically only one player can play online at a time but it was working just fine yesterday and forever before that. Recently there was a battlelog plugin update that failed to install a billion times but eventually i got it.

 

I heard that it could have something to do with UPnP or whatever but I'm not about to disable shit on my PC if I don't have too.

 

I tried changing a registry file to put +clientport 20000 and that seemed to fix it but only for one match then it suddenly started messing up again.
