I have encountered this problem several times over the past few months and have the problem resolved either by turning the computer off and just reinstalling the driver after or it just fixes itself after sometime. But now I cant seem to get it working again. I have removed the battery from my laptop and disconnected all power supplies leaving it overnight and the problem still exists. I also removed my RAM and plugged it back in but its still the same. I even went into the bios to check if the LAN ethernet is enabled and it is but its still not working even after I click to set everything to default settings. Prior to this time's incident I uninstalled the driver thinking its just another one of those times but now it doesn't even reinstall anymore so there is no driver on the device manager for the network adapter. The reason I'm not using the wifi is due to preference before but now if I turn on my wireless it freezes my computer from time to time like when you experience lag in games. This is my laptop:

SONY Vaio VPCSE 17GG

Intel core i7-2640M

samsung 840 evo ssd

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230

windows 7 pro 64-bit

I'm not sure if any other information is required for this problem. Help me out. Thanks.
