First time SSD Buyer

As said in the title, this is my first time buying an SSD and I want some help picking something out. I currently have a 5400rpm drive in my main laptop and want some more speed. I considered a Seagate Momentus XT, but thought if I'm buying a new drive I might as well go all out with an SSD. I want a reliable drive with lots of storage, preferably at least 480GB. I also don't want to spend a fortune, since I'm only a student. Speed is a tertiary concern since no matter what I pick will be a hell of a lot faster than a 5400rpm HDD. I've been considering the OCZ Vector 512GB, OCZ Solid 3 480GB and the Crucial M4 512GB.

Mushkin Chronos Deluxe, Patriot Wildfire, OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS, OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G, Corsair Force GS, Samsung 840, Samsung 830, Plextor M3 Pro, OCZ Vertex 4, OCZ Vector, Samsung 840 Pro, Corsair Neutron GTX, Plextor M3, Crucial M4, Intel 520.

Those are the top tier drives

Go for the vector, it uses the newest technology and has a longer life span than the others
