Hello people,

I'm in a bit of a predicament. let me start with my setup: i5 4670k AsRock H87 Pro4 mobo (yes it can OC the cpu and it's on 4.2GHz now), 8gigs of ram and a 1080p monitor that I won't upgrade anytime soon. I'm a happy owner of a GTX 660 butI feel it's about time to upgrade.
Sadly I'm in a lets-not-call-it-good country so computer parts are a bit more expensive and paychecks are way lower. (All I can make in a month would be less than a gtx 960's worth)
I was so excited to get my hands on a 960 because I found a sweet deal where I can give my 660 and pay just ~100$ for that card.
I've watched tons of videos, read a lot of reviews and the data is allover the place. So theoretically from a 660 to a 960 how much of an improvement should I see? Would it be worth it?
Many friends advise me to not pull the trigger, wait for the 1000 series etc. But seeing how hard it is to get funds stacked up and considering the next value card (like a 1060-ish) will come in almost 1 years time, I don't see the point in waiting so long.
My PSU is a bronze one but 500 W so going the AMD roud doesn't appeal to me either.

I'm have mixed feelings now because, on one hand the deal from a 660 + 100$ = 960 is limited and I'm afraid of losing out and regretting it later but on the other hand maybe I'm making a mistake and even 100$ difference is not worth the mediocre bump in specs.

As for the card I'm exchanging with: Gainward GeForce GTX 960 Phantom, the 4 gig version.

lol wait for the 1000 series when the 900 series isnt even all the way out lol. might as well wait for the 1100 seriers.

and yes even with a good deal you will lose money if you buy a brand new card. unless you get a super amazing deal like 60% off MSRP

but i would say get it if thats what you want to put your money into. unless you want to get a r9 290x which is rumored to be a r9 380 which would be equivalent to a 970.

I would save up more and sell the 660 when you have enough to get the 970 because if I am correct in saying this there won't be that much of a performance boost from the 660 to the 960.
