So Prior to my scrapyard build, I purchased a second hand iMac a while ago (the ad had said it was for parts only, upon inspection i found it was only a faulty hdd, awesome score for $80AUD) and decided how it could go with some slight OCing.

Before OC everything was unplayable, It couldn't even run CS:GO at the lowest of resolutions and quality settings.

After OC it's capable of running CS:GO on low-medium settings at the native 1080p resolution at a minimum of 60fps with the temp never going above 69 (unless on a hot summer day, where it hits about 75 which is pretty good considering the inferior cooling of the iMac).

That's overclocking surprisingly well, considering the nature of the iMacs cooling.  I personally wouldn't recommend this.

Yeah I was really suprised considering its about a +60% OC and only had a raise in temperature of about 5C on max loads when compared to standard.

It's a C2D mac (3.06ghz i think from memory) with 4gb RAM and a 600gb HDD (running botcamp), but makes an awesome general purpose PC (that my gf likes as she is a bit of an apple fanatic) and can be used for light gaming as well.

Without the OC I wouldn't even bother trying to run Age of empires 2HD let alone CSGO
