Would this be fine for somebody looking to play games/do 3D work on a desktop PC. He wants to spend just around £1000 on it and i think that's as best as i can get it for him. Just look for some slight tuning that anybody thinks would help/pull more performance.

Its pretty close to perfect.

Why is your Optical drive so expensive?

No idea. Because it's a bluray drive? I mean he doesn't even have to get that unless he wants it so that's not really an issue to deal with.

It's a great build. But change the PSU to this one: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr

 

Yours is from the notorious RM series, as well as not having all the PCIe connectors for SLI.
