No Input Signal

We have just built a pc and when we plug it into a monitor via vga it says 'No Input signal'.

 

We have tried it on another computer and the screen and cable work fine

 

we are using a radeon r9 270x.  Any help?

Yeah we used the 24 pin connector

Yeah, it does work. the two fans were spinning

OK, just because you have no output does not mean it is your video card. Do you get any beeps when you turn on the machine?

Not sure but i have an AMD FX-8350

Does your new monitor have different source modes? Have you cycled through those?

Then yes. Take the video card out, and plug your monitor into the connector on the back of the computer. If it works return your graphics card to the manufacturer for a new one. If it doesn't then you have to dig a little deeper

No it only has VGA

Have you tried taking the graphics card out yet and using the onboard VGA connector that is on the motherboard? Also, are you on the correct connector?

No, FX-8350 doesn't have integrated graphics, neither does the rest of the platform.

 It is an ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

What happens when you turn it on?

All the fans start up and the power LED turns on. Even the gpu fans turn on

Ouch! Hard to diagnose without onboard graphics, cause you can't get post codes except through your graphics card.
