gigabyte 29 280 overclock?

hi, this is my first time overclocking anything, i got a gigabyte r9 280 for a very good price at ncix, and i wanted to overclock, as i heard the windforce cooler is very good. can someone help me with this? i have tried to do some overclocking already with msi afterburner. i did achieve a mild overclock, but nothing over the top. not completely sure how to overclock this specific card, and i don't want to risk damaging it. any help would be appreciated!
