ASUS MX239H for gaming

Hello friends,

 

I am currently looking at the ASUS MX239H monitor and it seems to tick off all the check marks that I am looking for. However, I was just wondering how those of you who own the monitor feel about it. I currently have a Samsung B2430HD monitor that I am using for gaming, and it has a 5 MS response time and I am totally cool with that, so I assume that a 5ms response time on an IPS will feel quite the same. I have used IPS panels at Frys and wow do they look so much better than TN. I want a 120 or 144Hz panel, but this monitor will be a gift from my parents and monitors above 60hz all seem to be out of the price range.

 

Basically, what I'm asking is, if you have the MX239H or MX279H, does it work alright for your needs? Are there any particular reasons I shouldn't buy this panel?

the one you have listed has a premium tag for the aesthetics. 

plus with the Dell you get a $100 gift card so you could technically purchase 2 for the price of the Asus you have listed
