Now that Alienware has released their new 1500W Area-51 PSU, i an curious about how it is and their power supplies in general:

1) What are the quality of the components inside like  (e.g, do they use Japanese capacitors) and who makes the PSUs?

2) Are they 80+ rated?

3) How strong are the rails on the unit(s) and can they sustain max output?

4) do they have things like Over-Current protection and Short Circuit protection or will they just explode in a power failure?

thanks for the responses

much appreciated

They're 80+ Diamond certified. Diamond in-crusted that's why a crap graphics card in a system is worth so much.

IKR, 270X for $1700 lol.

But seriously, i wasnt asking for a joke, please answer my question seriously

It'll likely be like any other proprietary Dell PSU, as cost effective as possible. High quality components aren't very cost effective.

Alienware/Dell is by far the worst boutique PC builder around.

INTEL CORE i5-7600K | ASUS ROG STRIX B250i GAMING | CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT 16GB | EVGA GTX 970 SC | EVGA B3 550W
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB | CRYORIG M9i | BE QUIET! PURE WINGS 2| FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE NANO S

PC Specialist and Digital Storm FTW!

But seriously, how did they get it to 1500W then?
