HD Camcorder Suggestions

I'm in the market for a 1080P 30 FPS camcorder that can also take timelapse video, the camera needs to have fast autofocus with face recognition, and a small form factor with an industry standard mount on the bottom, long battery life is also appreciated.  Would also like suggestions for microphones and such.  Just new to camera's in general and I don't know what's good, right now I have a Nikon D90 DSLR that takes horrid video with horrid audio and I found a program that can use it to take timelapse video which is also horrid since it jumps around a lot.
