Hi,

Yesterday i installed my first new ssd. I installed windows 7 via usb tho i installed the wrong one. I reinstalled it by just deleting all partitions aka my hdd and my ssd ( didnt format it) and it stated that i deletes all items on the storage device.

Anyway my question is. Did my ssd trim that part as well or does it only trim items that are deleted inside windows. I read that windows 8 trims the whole drive on a scheldued base ( aka the defragmentation or optimasasion idk if those were the same). Does windows 7 does this as well? Does windows 7 has that optimasation tool that trims on on scedule or is that only for windows 8?  Is that wrong and deleted? windows7 that i installed wrong trimmed now or not?

Also, do i need to use secure erase to really clear my ssd when i wil ever reinstall windows 7 or can i just format it (quick format/ format in windows installer) or can i just delete the partitions like i did now?

It's only Windows 8 that does this "trim". Deleting the partition is what you'll have to do when installing a new OS.
