Hi,

I recently built my new gaming pc, the specs I will attach further down this post, Since day 1, I've been getting blue screens with varying messages, but the most common one and most frustrating is "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor.. This is frustrating me endlessly as my pc will randomly lock up, repeat the last sound it played rapidly and then prceed to BSOD.. I cannot play any of the games I love reliably anymore, I have days where i can play CS:GO for hours and not have a problem, and most other days where i get at least 2 blue screen in the middle of playing.. As well as my screen going black for about 5 seconds then coming back on I'm getting to my wits end with this pc, I poured my money into it expecting to get an amazing gaming and computering experience but I have not gotten anything like that, just headache after headache and problem upon problem.

And now for the Specs..

CPU: intel I-7 4790k

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero

GPU: Asus Strix GTX 980  (Factory overclocked.. could that be causing the problems?)

PSU: Corsair RM 750 80+ Gold Fully Modular

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16Gb DDR3-2133

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 Evo

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Storage: Corsair Force LS 60Gb SSD (Holds OS)

              Seagate 2Tb SSHD

Case: NZXT H440

I love this pc, I put so much time working for it and into making sure everything was compatible and that it would all work but I never thought that I would get to this stage and it would be unusable on a software side of things

I'm desparate,

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Having a 980 is like having a Ferrari... Looks Sexy, Performs Sexy and will get you laid...... Oh wait... Its a GPU...

We can dream I guess :/

Make sure you have no overclocks, try without GPU. IF that doesnt work try individual RAM sticks. Maybe try running memtest aswell. You may also have to update your bios, does your motherboard display any error codes when this happens? Standard for the Hero when operating normally is A0

Probably your OS. Perhaps your winsock.dll file is corrupted.

Also try:

I suggest a re install if that doesn't work.

The GTX 980 came stock overlocked out of the box, and i have all my bios setting reset to default, next time it crashes i'll look for motherboard error codes

Stock overclock on GPU wouldnt cause it. Like I said start pulling out hardware to narrow it down

Once I pull components out, how do i narrow it down? Usually crashes in a game and without a gpu.. cant really test that :/

The 4790ks integrated graphics will be fine for counter strike

Alright, I'll pull out the 980 and see if that makes a difference, thanks for the help so far :)
