DNS-320L and BTsync

so I recently got a DNS-320L, the thing works beautifully for what I need it to do. but upon finding this http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/19278-sync-to-nas-d-link-dns-320/, and then this: http://nas-tweaks.net/371/hdd-installation-of-the-fun_plug-0-7-on-nas-devices/#Purpose.2C_risks.2C_and_benefits, i decided i would install BTsync on it. I did exactly what the sites say and apparently I have BTsync installed on my NAS. but the problem is that i cant access the web gui of BTsync, i've reserved a static ip on my router and have tried numerous times typing in the (NAS's ip):8888/gui which apparently should get me to the web gui, but instead i get "This webpage is not available". does anybody have any ideas of why it might not be working?
