Choosing a PSU

Go to solution Solved by 79wjd,

Thanks! :)

However im curious, the recomended psu for the grafics card is 600+W

And the cpu requers about 84 W

Wich already is more than 650w

So, how can one be sure that i's enough?

The gpu suggestion includes the rest of the system; and they're VERY VERY conservative since its easier to just say, you need x amount of power and cover all bases rather than account for a lot of other factors.

You'd be fine with a 500w psu and still have room to overclock.

Hi gents!

So im building a new pc, and im unsure about how strong of a psu i need to run it, We have a 650 w 80+ bronze psu atm and  if i dont have to replace it i'd rather not. (but feel free to give tips of what to get if needed)

What i have so far:

1  120 gb ssd

1 terrabyte hdd

2 fans

and

c8554df23e.jpg
all inside of a CM Elite 430 Black (already own it)

Am i good or do you spot something completley off?

It's for gaming

PS: Thanks for your help <3

What psu do you have now?

I would get a 4670k/4690k since you are getting a z97 board.

The graphics card will only realistically draw 230 watts, they just want you to have extra watts by recommending 600.
