So I currently have some crappy Thompson modem/router that Telstra sent to me and it is only WiFI B/G compliant.

My desktop computer which is connected via ethernet (100Mbps connection) tests at about 0.6-0.7 mbps upload speed.

My laptop which I is B/G/N compliant tests at about 0.7-0.8 Mbps.

My G2 which has WiFi AC tests up to 1.1 Mbps.

all tests done using speedtest.net and Ookla speedtest app

Any one know how i can get that speed on my desktop or is there some kind of voodoo magic going on making the speed on my phone so much higher.

Download speeds are a similar story with phone being faster than laptop which is slightly faster than desktop(about 7 mbps max download speed).

Thanks,

Schmittez
