Im new to overclocking and i just got started a few days ago, when i boosted my i5 4690k CPU to 3.8 Ghz for starters at 1.040 Volts in adaptive mode and then ran a stresstest with AIDA 64 for about 35 minutes everything seemed to be working fine and stable at about 40-50 Celsius.

Now when i started my computer the next morning for the first time of the day this message popped up " All settings were reset to default values, The previous overclocking settings have failed , system has been restored to default settings". When i do run the computer in default settings this does not happen but the whole point of getting this new computer was to overclock it for more performance.

My PC specs:

MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard

i5 4690k haswell CPU

be quiet! dark rock 3 CPU cooler

Corsair 750 W 80+ gold

16 GB corsair vengeance 1600 mhz RAM

I'd appreciate all help i can get, thank you.

I tried testing the CPU while playing games as well, i played WoW and watched a stream at the same time for a whole day and i didn't notice any difficulties or crashes during that time

I will try to stresstest for a longer amount and see what happens.
