Asus PRO50Z Not POSTing

Hi All,

 

My friend has asked me to look at her laptop.

 

For some reason its not posting.

 

When powered on the power light comes on and the optical drive searches for a disc but that is it. 

 

No display or HDD activity can be seen or heard.

 

I have tried to systematically rule out things by removing them, HDD, Optical, RAM, Wireless card. (I removed one component, powered on, nothing happens, power off, than remove another etc). 

 

Nothing is making any difference.

 

I'm thinking the BIOS chip may be dead (If the chip is dead would the optical drive even initiate?)

 

I have also noticed that when left on for about 10 minutes the CPU is heating up and the fans are turning on as normal. 

 

Any help is much appreciated.

It sounds like it could be a battery or power brick problem..well..you have already check the other stuff..and this was still left open...
