Hey all,

I recently purchased a CM Storm Quickfire XT Stealth (Green Switch) Limited Edition keyboard from amazon

for the past 2 weeks it has worked flawlessly until just now...   :(

the F5-F8 keys that control Play/Pause, Stop, previous track and next track stopped.

F9-F12 all work fine and those buttons also have second functions (windows key lock, volume up/down and mute)

Heres where i get confused, when i attempt to use F5-F8 my cursor gets the spinny blue loading wheel that windows seven offers

what can I do?  is there a way to "reset" the keyboard or something?

If you are referring to HID "Human Interface Device" I've already checked to make sure the service is automatic and running.  any other suggestions?

if you are not referring to HID, could you tell me what else to look for in services

Olay! (? sorry)

YOU DID IT! you fixed it, and all it took was uninstalling that bastard chrome!

last desired answer: How can I still use chrome and prevent this from happening in the future?

Good Morning !

I guess you was using google music or something similar ? because this "app or extension" hijacks your multimedia keys.

ok install chrome and go to the Extensions Menu , and search for a Link that says " Keyboard shortcuts" and set everything to Global.

i hope it worked :)

I changed everything to global and it did the same thing so i said screw it and uninstalled the damned plugin/extension.  it was an impulsive thing thinking i could sync my M8 through Google music but sadly i cant so the extension has no use.

I appreciate your tenacity in answering my question to the very end even with me being days in between answers (SUPER BUSY with school and work)

thank you
