I have just added a second GTX 780 to my system and im running them with the corsair ax 860 psu.     One card i have im using two separate 8pin cables and the other one i have one cable to that has a 6 and 8 pin on it   is that single Cable ok to use to support one single 780 in the sli config?

Yes it is intended to be used that way... You dont actually have to use two cables on the first 780 either. Its all running on the same +12V rail anyways.

 

Edit: just noticed one of them is reference and the other DirectCU2... that would bother me soooo much haha :P
