For a better microphone than the snowball I'd suggest the audio  technica at2020 for  ~$120 on amazon US http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020-USB-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B001AS6OYC

 

The audio technica at2020 is a really good mic, as well as the Blue Yeti.

 

If you want portabity and good sound quailty the blue snowball is pretty good. But you will get better quality with the Blue Yet and AT2020.

Hello, 

 I recently got a pair of Sennheiser HD 558 I need a good gaming/broadcasting mic to go with them. I want something with good sound quality (Podcast level) and will not be to obtrusive. I prefer something on desk but portable. I have no budget, within in reason I willing to pay what I have to get what I want.

Modmic 4.0 can turn your headphones into a heatset this seems a lot more convenient. You'll find something more like what you're talking about from audio-technica or blue. I would give you a specific model but it really depends on your price bracket.
