High Dark Rock 3 temps?

Go to solution Solved by hammerslap1,

yeah the 3 is the one i was thinking about just went and checked.... so if i recall it is possible to accidentaly tighten one side down further than the other which would prevent the cooler from sitting flush on the cpu. thus not giving you optimal contactwith one side of the heatsink.... i would take it back off clean off both the cpu and heatsink with alcohol and lint free cloth then reapply the dab of paste and make sure you tighten it down evenly and fully. other than the check and make sure you arent dealling with fins that are bent out of allignment and make sure the case itself is getting plenty of cool air inside of it

so i recently got a be quiet! Dark Rock 3 and i am getting around 33-35C idle and 52-57C when playing battlefield and when doing regular things 36-40C, and these temps aren't that different from the temps i was getting with my old CM hyper 212 EVO, are these temps ok for this cooler and should i not be worried or is there something wrong and i should do something and if there is please tell me what to do and i have reinstalled it with new thermal paste and that brought it down to the temps that i have now but i was expecting a little bit better temps than this, please let me know what to do and these temps are on a i5 4690k and please note that this is the Dark Rock 3 not the Dark Rock Pro 3

doesnt that cooler have a funky mounting system? it is possible you could have not tightened it down enough or you didnt tighten it evenly but that cooler should easily outperform the 212evo if i am thinking of the same cooler

corsair 600t, msi z87-g45, intel 4770k, 16g patriot viper low-pro ram, asus direct cu2 780, crucial 256gig ssd, seagate baracuda 1tb,
