Hey guys, so I built a new gaming PC (well, a mate of mine did it, cos I was too scared too) and Ive noticed that when I try to surf the net in Chrome, having more than one tab open causes problems.

So I have one tab open, but when I go to another website using another tab, it will either take a while to load and give me a stripped version of the website (white background, images aren't loaded) or it just takes too long to load and times out.

Ive got alot of devices connected to my single modem, (an iPhone, an iPad, Xbox One over WiFi, and 2 PC's connected through a cable.) Ive tried disabling all of the devices except my PC and still it doesnt work. The only difference between the two PCs I have is that my gaming PC is connected with a 20m ethernet cable that I just bought from a local store and my parents PC is connected through the one that came with the modem.

Downloading things like games and movies I have no problem with, theyre downloading at very high speeds, but its just going on the net. I've tried 2 other different web browsers (IE and FireFox) but still having problems.

Also asked my mate who built it about the problem, and he told me it was running fine when he tested everything out.

Anyone having the same problem as me? Please help!

Have you checked if this is happening to any other machine connected to your network that uses Chrome?

Also, when you open the new tab to load a page, is there any ! on your network icon at the bottom right?

Nah, nothing.

are you testing it through a wifi or wired connection?

Wired connection.

is this a constant problem or just happens occasionally?

Start your diagnostics with a trace route command.

Windows Key + R will bring up the run box.

type exactly (in quotations) "cmd".

this will bring up the command prompt.

First try to run the "tracert" command without any pages open.

The command will be followed by whatever website you are tracing, e.g. "tracert www.microsoft.com" then hit the enter key.

Take a screen shot of everything the command brings up after you type in the tracert command

Then try the same thing with one web page open.

Test.  Screen shot.
