Need help with sleeving

Faroeseviking

Im planning on getting uv green sleeving for my build and i was wondering how wide does the sleeving have to be?

And also how wide does the heatshrink have to be?

Im going to sleeve every single cable.

thanks in advance.

PS: im going to do heatshrinkless sleeving so it will look sexy

if its heatshrinkless why do you need heat shrink? and i think the sleeving has to be 1/4" but i cant remember for sure but im almost positive. what sleeving are you getting btw?.

 Well

ya ive seen all of the vids, for heatshrinkless there is no need for heat shrink ie heatshrinkless  unless you do it the other way. but thats just foolish imo.

btw paracord is easier to do heatshrinkless than mdpc imo

I got my paracord sleeving from Ebay. 30 meters for 7 euro :) from the bushcraftstore (UK).
I also sleeved all of my cables separately and without heatshrink. It's super easy ;)

Here's a little showoff:

(sorry for the bad quality, camera wouldn't focus on the close-up)

But do keep in mind that if you're sleeving a non modular PSU, you are going to need something to hold the sleeving at the inside of your PSU or at the very beginning of the cables.

I did it with zipties, and sleeved my cables to the very core of my PSU, and there I tightened them with 4 cables in 1 ziptie. It holds the sleeving just perfectly :).

You could also use heatshrink for this, but make sure that you shrink it very tight, because it'll slip right off the cables since it has no resistance like it has when you shrink it and then put it inside a connector ;).

Hope this helps!

6mm Sleeving : 3-5 Electrical Wire, i.e. Molex 4Pin Cable, SATA Power Cable, 6Pin PSU Cable... (F8mm+ Heat shrink)
8mm Sleeving : 4Pin, 6Pin, 8Pin Cables... (F10mm+ Heat shrink)

Never been a fan of paracord. Looks like you have lots of shoelace wires.

MDPC-X sleeving done well will ALWAYS be the most premium choice
