Ever since last night, my computer randomly restarts (happened three times since then) saying that there was some sort of error. I checked the event logs and this critical event pops up: "Source: Kernal Power. Event ID: 41. Task: 63". I'm very new to computers so I used HDSentinel to check my hard drives to see if they're okay and found out one of my hard drives were in critical condition so I took it out (500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200). I haven't gotten any restarts since I took it out however, my "Intel" logo that appeared on start-up is now gone (other than that it boots up fine).

Can the Kernal Power problem be explained by a failing hard drive? Is there a way to fix the intel logo or do I need to put the near-dead hard drive back in? Thank you for your time!

If removing your hard drive fixed your problem I wouldn't worry about it.

Just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything stupid especially with the intel logo missing, it kind of freaked me out. Thanks for the reply! Any advice on what I should do in case it happens again?
