Assassins Creed 4 Controller Problems

Got a bit of a weird problem, I just switched GPUs from a 7870 to a R9 290, redid the drivers and such. When I started AC 4, with my wireless 360 controller off, the UI was stuck on controller. Unplugging the dongle and restarting the system did nothing. The game is still stuck on the controller UI. Also in the menus and the game itself without any control input there is a constant up movement like the controller is being jammed forward. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Backup the save file and reinstall the game. That should work.

Have you tried using the controller to switch the input back to keyboard/mouse? If that doesn't work it may be worth doing what GingerbreadPK said and reinstalling, but before doing that I'd try backing up the save and starting fresh to see if something glitched in the save file. It might also be worth doing the same with any settings files (I'm not sure how AC4 handles its settings)
