media server router/ac bridge network issue

I apologize in advance if this isn't the correct place to make my topic. Recently, I had trouble streaming and internet connectivity in my house. My smart TV drops wifi connection in the midst of my movies streaming from a server i built. I just bought the netgear r7000 nighthawk, to replace my decade old router. My question is, I may purchase a linksys ac bridge (wumc710) to connect to my TV. I was wondering if the TV would be able to stream from the server if I connected it to the ac bridge along with the TV. Or would I have to connect the media server into the router? Thanks!
