Never built a PC before.

Go to solution Solved by Skashe,

It now says 4670 again not 4670K, unless you're using PCpartpicker to actually buy stuff I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes that video is good, that guy is well informed.

Well, This is annoying.

Hello! Thank you for stopping by.

Now i have never built a PC before and i would like to. I enjoy looking through various PC building videos and guides on the internet and i feel like i want to make the jump from pre builts to real PCs.

I'm upgrading from my laptop (it's an Asus K53SK, but that's irrelevent) mainly because of the heat. The components inside it, is not really that fast enough to handle the games i aim for.

The PC i plan to build is mainly for Gaming. Obviously. I would like to run games like Crysis 3 on a decent FPS We are not talking about console decent, y'know 30 fps and that. So i aim to get the best performance for the cash. The most bang for the buck or whatever it's called.

I live in Denmark where the computer parts are very expensive. More than the US. That is why i aim to get the most out of my money. My budget is 8000 DKK which is around 1450 USD, but it would be nice to get the price down if possible.

It would be awesome to have more than one monitor in the future, but for now (because i'm a cheap skate) i will only invest in one monitor. I already have a mouse so a keyboard is needed. I also plan to run Windows on my machine. I can't decide between Windows 7 or 8 since the interface is best on 7, but 8 is cheaper in DK for some reason. Maybe you can help here?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jg3Rgs

Here is what i have for now. The price gets to around the 8000 DKK mark.

Hope you can help and thank you if you have read this far.

-Johan or Skashe.

You're a winner Skashe, you have chosen parts very well.

The 3 things I will bring to attention

  1. The spending on a case could be reduced in order to bump up to a GTX 770 or an R9 280X.

  2. The best OS for gaming as it stands is Windows 8, the issues with the interface are fixable easily with a couple of small applications.

  3. Also consider swapping the board out for the Z97-K if the price is similar as it is the latest 1150 chipset.

Also, welcome to the Forum! :)

I chose the 8320 over the 4670k because then I can get a more powerful GPU

The reason why i have choosen such an expensive case is because it's the thing i look at the most and the cleaning is very easy on the case.

I have swapped the Phantom to the 450D. Corsair make excellent cases and this one looks like it should be easy to clean.

I have swapped among the other things.

Anything more i need to change?

Thank you all for the help and the warm welcome to the forum :)

If you have enough money, bump the cpu to 4670K, your board is good for overclocking and the extra performance will come in useful. :)

Apart from that the build is solid!

That list says 4770K lol, if that's just a type error no worries but if it's not I'd still recommend the cheaper 4670K for your machine. :)

Enjoy building your new PC, if you need help building it or want to watch someone build a PC first, there are many helpful videos on YouTube for that like this one.
