Hello,

just upgraded to RTX 4080 from RTX 3080. But I can’t get it to POST consistently. If I remove the CMOS and remove the power from the PSU it boots sometimes and lets me go to bios or windows. If I then reboot/shutdown I have to remove the power again. So something is not cooperating with each other. I think it might be my B450 MOBO but it should still work. The POST led stops at VGA and the fans ramp up to 100%. The rest of my setup is ryzen 7 5700x3D and 32gb of ram.

1. Should it work?

2 do I need to upgrade to B550 or AM5?

Yes it should work.
No, you shouldn't need to upgrade to a b550 or AM5.

Is this a new or used 4080?

Used

the seller had videos where it worked, and I got it to boot a few times but after a reboot/shutdown I had the issue again.
