cheap laptop

Go to solution Solved by Needfuldoer,

Oof. Any new one for that price is going to be "cheap", not "a good value".

If they're willing to budge on the price just a little, you could get a Ryzen 3 7320U (though with 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD; double the SSD for another $20):

my work wanted me to get a cheap no more than 280usd laptop for a company raffle and i found this model:

Is there anything better I am missing? it seems a lot of the main brands at this price point are all wifi 5 and 128gb emmc and other trash. this is one of the few listings ive found with modern ish hardware ddr5 and wifi6 and real ssd.

I would honestly make a bundle with a Chromebook and a decent mouse or headphones or something. Having used a cheap laptop (more expensive than this lol) they kind of suck

I see that as 15% off so it hits the budget perfectly at $281. It's a tough choice as the storage is pretty bad but I'd expect way better quality out of ASUS compared to CHUWI. Still that comes from assumption not experience.

heh, anime goon-bait. usually not a great indicator of quality. similar to how people sell fake drives with lower capacities than stated or not even the brand they claimed it was, these sellers tend to take that to another level and perform that fraud for all components within the laptop possible. consider every corner to be cut.

Dreaming of the day when my brain cell doesn't betray me.

no thats one of many ones which is emmc ssd. ufs just means emmc, aka a literal SD card soldered to the board is your storage. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

not my deal, but i wouldnt do that either. a laptop can be a good tool or educational device for a family to have, these are low skill workers, they would otherwise spend it on beers. there are many other things too it isnt just 1x laptop, and its not even the most expensive item or tech.
