DAS (Direct Attach Storage) Suggestions

I have an old HP business desktop I'm using for a stroage/media server and I've run out of space.  I started looking and found the TERRAMASTER D4-320, but started seeing some limitations.

 

My server have no USB-C port that are any good. There is only one and it's on the front panel, attached to a USB 2.0 header. This being HP it's proprietary, it's soldered to the board so I can't just buy an internal adapter to plug it into. I do however have USB-A 3.0 or 3.1, 5ghz ports. Which are more than fast enough.

 

Should I just get the D4-320 and get a USB-A to C cable? Or should I look for something else?

I also found the Mediasonic PROBOX 4 Bay DAS which is about $60 cheaper than the D4-320, and uses USB-A. The speed drops from 10gbps to 5gbps but honestly I don't think it matters since I'll be running HDDs not SSDs.

 

Unless anyone else has some suggestions suggestions.
