Budget (including currency): $2,500 USD (A few hundred over won't kill me for any edits if there are better parts available for a little more)

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming in 1440p; R6 Siege, Monster Hunter Worlds, Battlefield 6, Fortnite, Cyberpunk, Ready or Not, and other similar games.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm upgrading from a Dell Precision Tower 5820 which I got for free 5-6 years ago. It's a workstation PC and doesn't handle gaming the best, which is what I'm going for. I've spent a while doing a little research on parts and my budget is around $2,500 USD. I'm pretty set on a 5070 Ti so I'd rather not swap that for a different GPU. I have very limited knowledge on computer parts. I'm currently playing at 40-100 fps depending on the game and my monitors are 75hz. I'd like to upgrade monitors as well later down the line but not immediately when i purchase the PC parts. I'll likely go with 144-240hz depending on what replies recommend, as I know even less about monitors than I do PC parts.

Since the workload you mention is gaming I would highly recommend getting a 9800X3D over a 9900x.

Games can't take advantage of all the cores on a 9900x while the extra 3DV-Cache on the 9800X3D is highly beneficial.

The X3D's are designed for gaming.

RAM sweetspot is 6000Mhz CL30 so I changed to that.

1000w PSU is also overkill and a solid 850w will do.

This is at 1080p to stress the CPU more, but you get the idea 🙂

A 9800X3D will still beat a 9900x at 1440p.

Better case with more room, better AIO, SSD with near identical specs including DRAM cache, board with identical specs as that Asus ROG, better gaming cpu, ATX 3.1 psu w/10 year warranty, faster RAM, 180Hz gaming monitor.
