Hi guys.I bought this laptop last year and I am using laptop cooling pad with it.

I don't have any issues while gaming, yet.

I am playing Doom 3 on it.

Since this model is quite old, probably 9 years, and I think thermal paste was not replaced, could anyone help me to diagnose if the temps of the GPU are too high and thermal paste is needed to replace.

Tell me what tests/software to run and report back with temps (HWInfo?)

It has 6820HK and GTX 980M 8GB VRAM.

To get to the motherboard of this laptop is quite tricky so not something which I would do.

If thermal paste is needed to replace I would need to pay quite high for a repair technician since he is charging a lot of money, because complicated dissasembly.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Run the games you usually run and see give us the tempratures you are seeing.

There is no point in running for example a unrealistic stresstest if you rarely if ever do such workloads.

Use the PC as you normally do and check temps.

These are temps while playing Doom 3, using laptop cooling pad.Ambient 25°C.

CPU spikes only to 71-73 °C.

Those are actually really good temps and CPU spike to 71-73c is no where near dangerous levels.

I see nothing wrong here at all and you dont need to repaste the laptop 🙂  GPU is chillin at 63c.

For a laptop I am actually impressed with these temperatures!, even though you are using a cooling pad.

Something is wrong.I remember last time temps reaching 83 C both on CPU and GPU with CPU spikes up to 92° C, though it was very sunny and hot weather back then.

I will run Half Life 2 and report back.

If I can recall it, temps were higher in that game.

83c on GPU and CPU for a gaming laptop during hot ambient temps is pretty decent actually.

We often see gaming laptops hit 92c on the CPU during heavy gaming.  Nothing to worry about.

Keep me updated.

With spikes on CPU to 82°C in Half Life 2 Episode 2.

82c in no where near the limit of a 6820HK.
Completely safe 🙂

And the game just froze, there is sound coming on but picture froze.

Same happens in other game as well.

Which is a symptom of GPU becoming dead...
