I'm new to PC building, I want to know if my build is good for gaming in 1440p. My main concern is the case and I am wondering if everything will fit. I have swapped out the cpu, gpu, and added 1 ssd to the prebuilt that I have. Please feel free to give me any recommendation's if you have any. I plan on reusing my ssd's, I just included them in the parts page. I don't plan on buying everything at once.Screenshot2025-07-30143946.thumb.png.2c1b6345bdecfef627504a3efc97aa98.png

Budget (including currency): 2000$ USD

Country: U.S

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS2, Warframe, Monster Hunter WIlds, AAA games in general.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Main Monitor: MSI G273CQ, Second Monitor: Dell S2421HGF. I plan on playing games with HDR on and at 165Hz if possible, I hope to be able to play on medium/high settings as well.

First bad idea

If something is faulty you wanna be able to test it right away to RMA it

Going over the general build tho...

It isnt bad but it sure as hell could use optimising (Also you can get windows keys for like 5$ so I wont factor that in)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wjgnv4

This list chops off about 300 USD and comes with some major benefits like a "better" PSU and superior CPU

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wBWcKq

This 2nd list is about 50$ cheaper but has more ram, a better mobo and, better GPU and a bigger PSU for any future upgrades

Pick your ambrosia

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

I didn't think about that, I think that I will go with the first list that you linked. I like the budget and I have a case that's similar to the one in that list so hopefully Its easy for me. Also I plan on just reusing my ssd's so I wont have to buy windows 11 again right?

@Kyliske air coolers don't work so well with those fish tank cases (basic physics). Look for a board chipset that offers more PCIe lanes (bandwidth) for those Samsung SSD's and you want a board that supports PCIe 5.0 for the gpu seeing how this latest generation of AMD and Nvidia cards support PCIe 5.0.

That will depend
Some prebuilds have the license in the hardware, some you can link to accounts on Microsoft and there are other methods so I cant 100% guarantee anything

Also an old Windows boot drive may refuse to work on a newer system due to some incompatibility

And a fresh Windows install is always recommended on a new PC
