Hi! The last few days every time I turn on the PC the power button makes a double click sound and turn on, until this morning. I pressed the button several times but nothing, until the sixth or seventh try it turned on, but now it has not turned on anymore. I thought the problem was the button and shorting the motherboard will turn on the pc, but it doesn't. All the motherboards turn on when you short them or this one (X570 Plus) not? I have ordered a replacement button but I'm afraid it won't work either because of the shorting thing. Any idea? thank you!

Edit: Change CMOS doesn't work, mobo lights are on.

With the switch disconnected, have you checked it with your DVM?

No?

Have you got a DVM or multimeter? Do you know how to use one?

You mean to check both pins? I think my brother has a multimeter, I have asked for it in orther to check the CMOS.

To use to check for continuity when the button is pressed on the switch.

I'm surprised at the number of supposely technical people who don't have a DVM or multimeter.

I've only got a couple here plus my old analogue multimeter and my mother's one in my van. Her one would be at least 30 years old.

At our Shed there are at least 5 DVMs plus other meters.
